How does Furniture Grade Melamine compare with solid wood?
Furniture Grade Melamine, unlike solid wood, is dimensionally stable and does not warp, splinter or crack. SCHULTE’s Closets uses 5/8″ thick furniture grade melamine that has 1.4mm radius edge-banding on three sides for a smooth, clean finish. (Some competitors offer an inferior ?” shelving that doesn’t hold up well to years of daily use.) Cleaning is a cinch when all you have to do is dust or wipe down with a damp cloth…no polishing required!

What is an O-Box?
It’s short for “Organizational Box”. These sturdy “boxes” can be configured to contain shelves, drawers, hampers, doors or shoe cubbies, based on your particular project needs. Each O-Box has its own set of brackets so rearranging them to a different area of the closet can be done simply, without tools. You can even move them to another freedomRail closet or take them with you when you move.

How much does a typical closet cost?
Each closet is a unique design and since we do not use “prepackaged pricing”. Considering the variety of closet sizes, materials, number of drawers, shelves and accessories chosen by our customers it is impossible to have a standard price. For instance, a typical 8 foot reach-in closet can range from $300 – $3000 depending on the number of upgraded components you’re looking to have installed. We can custom design your closet system to fit your budget.

Aren’t the closet systems from the big box retailers cheaper?
Yes, they are cheaper…both in quality and price…but not in value for the dollar. Have you ever been to a big box retailer and found sagging display shelves, loose, sloppy drawer slides and an overwhelming array of clips, mounts, fasteners, connectors, etc…? Trying to find someone who can give you professional advice as to how to layout and install the system can be even more frustrating. We will work with you every step of the way from the initial consultation through to the final installation to ensure your complete satisfaction. We will not only save your precious time, but also ensure that you invest your money wisely by eliminating costly mistakes due to inadequate design or installation while offering a quality product that gives you true value for your dollar.

Yes, SCHULTE’s Closet Systems are not only adjustable and changeable, they’re also movable. However, many clients find that upgraded closets often increase the value of their home when they are ready to sell and use the closet components as a bargaining tool.

I LOVE my SCHULTE Closet System but my needs have changed. What can I do?
